I wanted to thank the Jewish Light for its recent editorial supporting Proposition B. A lot of people might not think this is an issue important to the Jewish community, but I disagree. As a longtime volunteer for Stray Rescue of St. Louis and as a professional in the Jewish community working to prevent child abuse, I often see how people treat companion animals directly correlates with how they treat their fellow human beings. A society can truly be judged by how it treats its most vulnerable inhabitants.

I urge my fellow readers of the Jewish Light to not only vote yes on Proposition B, but to also help make sure that our lawmakers enforce the law if an when it’s passed.
