Theodore “Ted” Elliot, died April 24, 2011 in St. Louis, Missouri. Born in Pueblo, Colo. June 3, 1920, son of the late Joseph (the late Mirian) Elliot; widower of Rhea; brother of the late Simon and the late Joseph Elliot; father of William (Lynn) Elliot of Missouri, Miriam Jo Elliot of N.C.; grandfather of Brian, Marc and Justin Elliot and Bari and Sydney Hersckowitz. He moved to Missouri in 2004, graduated from Centennial High School in 1938, serving on the Reunion Committee for many years. He was employed as a power technician in the Steel Mill, was an active member of Temple Emanuel in Pueblo serving 10 years as treasurer and serving on the building fund. He was on the board of Power Credit Union, served as Supervisory Committee Chair, a member of B.P.O. Elks #90, F. O. Eagles #145 in Pueblo, and active in the Masonic Fraternity having joined DeMolay in 1935, awarded the Legion of Honor receiving national recognition in 2003 with the Senior DeMolay Extraordinaire Award for 68 years of service. In Silver State Lodge #95 AF & AM, he was Master of the lodge in 1950, continued as treasurer and later secretary. He belonged to Fidelity Chapter #144, Order of Eastern Star, was the Worthy Patron in 2003, served in many capacities in the Southern Colorado Scottish Rite and coroneted 33 degree honorary for his efforts. As a member of Al Kaly Shrine, he served as Secretary/Treasurer of the Past Master’s Unit for some 30 years. In Missouri, he continued being active in Congregation Shaare Emeth and Ben Franklin Lodge #642. Funeral services were April 29, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. Temple Emanuel, 1325 Grand Ave, in Pueblo, Colorado. Interment followed at Roselawn Cemetery with Masonic Burial Rites by Silver State Lodge #95 AF & AM.
