Theodore David Ponfil, died June 7, 2015. Beloved son of Harry and Eva Ponfil (deceased); born January 16,1935, Ted had a passion for life and found profound pleasure in surrounding himself with family and close friends. He was an avid fisherman who relished fishing at his farm and the boundary waters, as well as a dog-lover, especially German Shepard dogs. In addition, he was a zealous attorney who enjoyed a tremendous reputation with judges, clients, and his peers. He was most proud of winning his first case as a new lawyer in the JAG Corp., a feat that had never been accomplished in the army. He was also passionate about reading and a student of history. He also believed in giving back to society, and did so through shaping young minds as a teacher at Maryville College and his alma mater, Washington University School of Law. Theodore is survived by his loving wife, Rena; his children, Jason (Mariellen), Jeffrey, Lisa (Tim) and Harry. In addition, he is survived by his grandchildren, Rachel and Adam McAlister, his beautiful sister, Shirley Weiss, his brother Ralph and many nieces, nephews and other family members and friends. He will be deeply missed, and always loved. There will be no formal service or funeral. The family would appreciate a donation made in his name in lieu of flowers or food.
