Sylvia Rovak Parkus, died June 23, 2015. Beloved wife of 62 years of Michael “Mickey” Parkus; dear mother of Barrie (Tod) duBois and Ellen Parkus; dear sister of the late Rose, Betty, and Paul Rovak; loving aunt and great-aunt of over 30; dear daughter of the late Harry and Ethel Rovak. She was born in Chicago and attended high school in St. Louis. A loving wife and homemaker, Syl was generous with her time, volunteering for many non-profits in St. Louis, including RIF (Reading is Fundamental), The Miriam School, and Harvey Kornblum Jewish Food Pantry. Syl was intellectually curious and loved to travel, read, do NY Times crossword puzzles and attend music and dance performances. Her wisdom, humor, kindness and adventurous spirit made her beloved by all her family and friends. She will live forever in our hearts. A celebration of Syl’s life will be held on Sunday, June 28th from 3 to 7p.m. at Ellen’s house. Contributions may be made to one of the above charities. Rindskopf-Roth
