Susan Stampfer Heller Marcus, born May 31, 1929, passed suddenly January 14, 2022.

Daughter of Ruth Freund Stampfer and Bert Stampfer; beloved wife of the late Irving Hellman Heller, Jr. and the late Jerome Marcus; wonderful mother of Betsy Heller Cohen (Bruce Cohen, MD), Douglas Stampfer Heller (Lilian), and Fred James Heller (Maryann); loving stepmother to Crystal Marcus August and Thomas Marcus (Susan); loving grandmother to Gregory Phillip Cohen (Lauren), Scott Andrew Cohen (Emma), Carine Virginia Heller, Miles Stampfer Heller, Julia August, and Amelia Jarolim; great grandmother to Brooks Heller Cohen, Parker Paige Cohen, Graham Chambers Cohen, and Camille Augustine Cohen; sister to the late Louise Stampfer Robbins (and devoted sister-in- law to Irving Robbins); and special aunt to Daniel Meyer Robbins, Cliff Stampfer Robbins, and Patricia Jane Robbins Furman.

Graduate of Flynn Park Elementary School, Clayton High School, Wellesley College (BA), and Webster University (MBA). Trailblazer as a single working mother and writer with achievements in marketing and advertising, co-founder of the Wife-Widow-Woman program of the National Council of Jewish Women, Director of Public Relations for Kidsmart, and President of Cancer Family Cares. Enduring interest in world travel, Life-Long Learning (as student and teacher), opera, and staying in close contact with her extended family.

Private services were held on January 18, 2022, at Temple Emanuel.
