Beloved husband of Janice Boraz; dear father of Diane (Rick) Burchett, Michael (Michelle) Boraz, and Stephen (Kathryn) Boraz; dear stepfather of Lill (Stew) Rein, Jeff (Kim) Altman, and Debbie (Dan) Raskas; cherished grandfather and “Scramps” of 11; great-grandfather of 8; dear brother of the late Harold (the late Celeste) Boraz, the late Doris (the late Leroy) Grossman, and Betty (the late Tony) Urban; a loving uncle, cousin, and friend.
Stan, fondly known as “Stan the Shoe Man,” dedicated much of his career selling women’s shoes, most recently at Macy’s. He was an avid athlete, playing racquetball well into his 70s. Stan was known for his kindness and generosity, making friends wherever he went and cared deeply for those in his life. He was especially passionate about volunteering at the NCJW Back to School Store, where he used his expertise to fit shoes for children in need.
Stan had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to joke around with family and friends. His warmth, positive spirit, and love for life left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
The family expresses special thanks to the staff at Delmar Gardens and Pathways Hospice for their compassionate care during Stan’s final years as he battled Alzheimer’s disease.
Services: Stan chose to donate his body to Washington University School of Medicine. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, February 2nd, at 10:00 a.m. at United Hebrew Congregation, 13788 Conway Road, St. Louis, MO 63141.
