Stanford Berger, died February 5, 2011, at the age of 86. Loving husband of 57 years to Rosalie; father of Samuel of St. Louis; Barbara (Art) Simon of New York City, Sheila (Michael) Rips of New York City, Harlan (Alhia) Chacoff of New York City, and John of St. Louis; grandfather of Isaac and Tillie Simon, Nicolaia and Rips and Gianni Berger. Born and raised in St. Louis, Berger attended Washington University prior to entering the U.S. Army in 1944. After his discharge at the end of World War II, he went into home building and real estate development, owning his own company for the next forty years. He was an active member of his profession, serving as Vice-President of the Home Builders Association of St. Louis. He also took an active role in the Jewish Community, serving multiple terms on the board of the Central Agency for Jewish Education and two terms as Vice- President of Shaare Zedek Synagogue. He had a love for the arts and played the piano beautifully. Services: Funeral Service Monday, February 7, 2:00 p.m. at Shaare Zedek Synagogue, 829 N. Hanley Road, University City, Mo.
