Sigmond Sterling Langsam

Sigmond Sterling Langsam, died May 20, 2015. Beloved husband of Esther Salzberg Langsam; dearest father of Barbara Langsam (Michael) Shuman and David (Jayne) Langsam; cherished grandfather of Amanda Shuman, Jessica Langsam and Rebecca Langsam; beloved brother of Perline Langsam; dear brother-in-law of Marjorie (Morris) Richman; son of the late Flora and David D. Langsam; our dear uncle, cousin and friend to many. Raised in Webster Groves, he was a star pitcher with Webster Groves High School’s varsity baseball team throughout high school. He signed with the Boston Braves after high school and played for the team’s farm clubs. He served in combat infantry during World War II, graduated Washington University’s Olin School of Business. He launched successful career in apparel business, and later founded Snelling Personnel Services on Brentwood. He was devoted to his family,  was a lifelong baseball fan and champion of those in need. Funeral service Friday, May 22nd, 10 AM at Berger Memorial Chapel, 9430 Olive Boulevard, St. Louis, Mo. 63132. Visitation begins at 9:30 AM. Private interment.
