Sidney N. Hurwitz, died June 3, 2014 at age 90. Husband of Rhoda; father of the late Vicki (Mike) Silver, Deborah (Rick) Burns, Jon (Rebecca) Hurwitz; grandfather of Rich, Jesse and Joanna; brother of Dan (Camilla) Hurwitz.  He helped liberate a German work camp in WW II, graduated from Washington University on the GI Bill and practiced social work for 40 years.  He was a great listener, writer, painter, loved Judaism, books, NPR, the outdoors, family and many friends. Graveside service Friday, June 6, 2:00 PM at United Hebrew Temple Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Louis Public Radio. Rindskopf-Roth
