Shirley Friedman Hartstein, died November 26, 2011 at age 86. Born in St. Louis; widow of H. David Hartstein; beloved mother of Cydney (Keith) Strand, Larry (Gail) Hartstein, Marc(Marcy) Hartstein and Ann(Cathy Stern) Hartsteinl dear grandmother of Lauren (Jason) Brown, Adam (Chloe) Hartstein, David Hartstein and Kimberly Hartstein; dear sister of Goldie (the late Gerald) Satz and the late Ralph (the late Rita) Freeman; dear sister-in-law of Lorraine (the late Raymond) Schankman and the late Julian (Ruth) Hartstein. Involved in many volunteer activities and a leader in community organizations, she served as the President of Shaare Zedek Congregation, President of the Women’s Auxiliary of the Jewish Center for the Aged and President of the Creve Coeur Women’s Golf Association. Funeral service Tuesday, November 29th 11 a.m. at Shaare Zedek Synagogue, 829 North Hanley Road. Visitation Tuesday 10:30 a.m. Interment Beth Hamedrosh Hagodol Cemetery, 9125 Ladue Road.
