Shirley Eastman Rosen

Shirley Eastman Rosen, died January 19, 2013. Beloved wife of Dr. Leonard Rosen; dear mother and mother-in-law of Robert (Wendy) Rosen, David (Clara) Rosen, Julie(Steve) Marciano, Dr. Laurence Rosen Ph.D., Mark (Amy) Rosen, and Elaine Cook; dear sister and sister-in-law of Sylvia( the late Eugene) Weissman, the late Louise(the late Samuel) Golman, the late Leonard(the late Marion) Eastman, Joan and Berl Katz and Henry Rosen; dearest grandmother of Michael, Maya, Emily, Nathaniel, Milo, Jessica, Joel, and Tess; dear great- grandmother of Gabriel. She was a graduate of Washington University in Occupational Therapy.  As an OT, she worked at the DeWitt US Army Hospital in Auburn, Ca.  during WW2 helping soldiers in their psychological recovery.  She was an excellent and legendary cook.  She loved music and the arts, especially attending operas with her husband, Leonard.  Shirley was a generous and loving soul who will be deeply missed. Services will be held at 1 p.m. January 21 at the new Berger Memorial Chapel, 9430 Olive Blvd.  Visitation will be starting at 12:30 p.m.  Interment will be at Beth Hamedrosh Hagodol Cemetery. 9125 Ladue Rd.  Memorial contributions preferred to Project Open Hand.  www.openhand.org.   Please visit bergermemorialchapel.com for more information.
