Selma Cohen Susman, died December 21, 2011. Beloved widow of Irvin Susman; daughter of the late Moses (the late Bessie) Cohen; beloved widow of Irvin Susman; sister of the late Charlotte (the late Dr. Joseph) Gitt and the late Sylvia (the late Frank) Josephson; mother of Ambassador Louis B. (Marjorie Sachs) Susman and Elaine (R. Thomas) Tucker; grandmother of Sally (Robin) Susman, William (Emily) Susman, Michael (Stacy) Tucker, Kenneth (Stefanie) Tucker, Stephen (Asa) Tucker and Joe Tucker, who were the joy of her life; great-grandmother of Lily, Carolyn and Molly Susman and Hilary, Jake, Kyle, Charlotte, Nathaniel, Carson and Quinn Tucker. Born in 1916 in East St. Louis, she lived her life in St. Louis and enjoyed a successful modeling career. She and her husband were active in their synagogue, Congregation B’nai Amoona, and took comfort in their large and loving family. Her final years were made more joyful and comfortable by the presence and care of Donna Nowden. She will be remembered by her many friends at the Gatesworth Manor, with whom she recently celebrated her 95th birthday. Graveside service Friday, December 23rd, 10 a.m. at Chesed Shel Emeth Cemetery, 7500 Olive Boulevard at Hanley in University City. The family will be receiving friends on Thursday, December 22nd at 5 p.m. and immediately following Friday’s service at the home of Elaine and R. Thomas Tucker.
