Sanford “Sandy” Molos

Sanford “Sandy” Molos, died September 24, 2011 at age 79 in Overland Park, Kan. Born in St. Louis, son of Henry and Rose Molos; husband of his loving wife, Marlene; father of Dr. Mark Molos and Diane Kelly of Leawood, Kan., Shelly and Cary Kingsberg of Plantation, Fl.; brother of Marilyn and Sidney Joseph of Chesterfield; brother-in-law of Bernard Penner of Kansas City, Mo.; grandfather of Lauren, Zachary, Chase, Saige and Cole Kingsberg, Scott, Heidi and Matt Molos; many nieces, nephews and friends. He attended St. Louis schools and earned a degree from Harris Teacher’s College. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. Upon his return he met the love of his life, Marlene Penner. They were married 55 years, lived in Kansas City and were longtime members of Beth Shalom Synagogue. He worked as a draftsman for 15 years for Black, Sivalls and Bryson Engineering and enjoyed the grocery business, working in the field on and off most of his life. He was a sports fan and enjoyed watching both the Chiefs and Royals. He enjoyed family gatherings and was the happiest when he was with his children and grandchildren. He had a great sense of humor and a lot of patience. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Graveside services 3:30 p.m. Sunday, September 25 at Sheffield Cemetery.
