Sanford M. Palans, December 21, 2024
Sanford passed away peacefully after a short illness.
Sandy was an Army Veteran, a pharmacist, and possessed an infectious smile. He was everyone’s best friend. Unfortunately, he was a terrible pitcher, guitar player and joke teller.
His favorite past times were laying in the sun for hours relaxing, and reading in the “husband chair” at the mall while Marlene shopped. He always loved their long winter trips to Florida and having a gin & tonic by the pool in the afternoon. Sandy was a huge fan of football (and cheerleaders). You had to be careful of giving him a microphone because he was a relentless speech giver, but he always made you laugh and gave all the feels. Sandy was always up for anything. He cherished his life-long group of close friends who went to lunch together every Sunday after playing Indian ball. No one will be missed more.
Sanford was preceded in death by his loving wife of 64 years, Marlene Palans, and his son Michael Palans. He was the dear father and father-in-law of Marla Palans and Andrew (Shanna) Palans; beloved grandfather of Cassidy (Joey) Wollard and Austin Palans; loving great-grandfather to Skylar and Carter Wollard; dear brother and brother-in-law to late Letty (late Kenneth) Lefkowitz; dear brother of the late Tobie (late Leonard) Broderson; dear uncle, cousin and friend to many.
