Ruth Shanker, August 3, 2019  beloved wife of the late Sam Shanker: dear mother and mother-in-law of Gary Shanker (the late Ann), Debra Fink (Joel) and Alan Shanker (Pam); dear grandmother of Greta Baum (Jeff), Jonathan Shanker (Naomi), Yosef Fink (Yedudis), Ezekiel Fink (Jillian), Leah Almo (Jacob), Molly Abikzer (Joseph), Elisha Huff (Dov), Dena Shanker (Ray Sultan) and Rebecca Shanker; dear great-grandmother of 24; dear sister of the late Lou Makovsky, the late Mary Koshner, the late Selma Blum, the late Jack Makovsky, the late Herman Makovsky, the late Bertie Mestman, the late Irwin Makovsky, the late Morris Makovsky and the late Edith Binder.

Ruth was the youngest of 10 children. She approached life with care, kindness and generosity and she followed her father’s advice that “there is a solution for every problem”.
