Rose Pearl Waldman (née Spiritus) passed away January 6th, 2024. She was 96 years old. She contributed her longevity to meditation, which she did twice a day for 53 years. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dr. Stanford S. Waldman, and her siblings Bernice Hillman, Tilly (Buck) Koslow, and Maury (Sadie) Spiritus, and her niece Ann Lynne (James) Birmingham. She is survived by her children, Mahesh Subrahmanyam and Joanne (Michael) Waldman, as well as her grandchild Sterling (Zoey) Waldman-Schein, and her niece Shelley Koslow. She was a very loving parent and wife. She married Stan on January 7th, 1951, and she still loved him deeply despite his passing in 1977.
Rose graduated from Soldan High School in 1945. She began school for dress design at Washington University but continued to make art only as a hobby. She worked for much of her life as an executive assistant. She was an involved member of the Covenant Place community for many years and will be deeply missed by her friends there.
Rose was a vibrant and dynamic woman. Everyone who met her loved her, and her hair was always perfect.
There will be a service at Berger Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, January 10th, at 10 AM.
