Robert L. “Bud” Meyer

Robert L. “Bud” Meyer,  Nov. 18, 2018

Born in St. Louis on Sept. 11, 1931 to Dr. Herman and Viola (Liepman) Meyer, Bud graduated from Soldan High School and the University of Missouri. In 1961 he married the love his life, Jeanette Ziskind. They enjoyed over 57 years together, including the addition of their son David Alan Meyer. After spending two years as a Lieutenant in Fort Sill, Oklahoma teaching artillery, he began his investment career at Semple, Jacobs & Co. In 1962, he followed his mentor, Mel Taylor, to Stifel, Nicolaus & Co. where he remained until retirement in 2015. Bud took great pride in his long years of service on the board of New Mt. Sinai Cemetery and in founding the Medic Investment Group with his father in 1959. Always a fan of sports, Bud was proud to be a shareholder of the old St. Louis Browns and to have shot a hole-in-one at age 80. He was also known as a talented woodworker and enjoyed winters in Arizona where he was always ready to play a round of golf. In addition to Jean and David, Bud is survived by his sister Dorothy (the late Charles) Meyerson, nephews James (Clare) and Howard (the late Catherine) Meyerson, and niece Judith (Steven) Gorin.
