Rita “Snookey” Simon

Rita “Snookey” Simon, died July 5, 2013 surrounded by her family in Tacoma, Wash. She was born March 29, 1933 in St. Louis, Mo. to Carl and Selma Lachman. She graduated from Washington University in St. Louis, where she was a member of Sigma Delta Tau sorority. She was a member of Temple Beth El Sisterhood, Hadassah, and the Council of Jewish Women. She is survived by her children, Marc (Jacqui) Simon of Seattle, Wash., Julie (Richard) Coppersmith of Boca Raton, Fla., and Jan Simon of Bellevue, Wash.; grandmother of Jason and Lee Coppersmith and Samantha and Sydney Simon; aunt of Cheryl and Hiram Martin of St. Louis. She was preceded in death by her husband, Phil; her parents; her sister, Teddy; and brother-in-law, Arthur Hermelin. She had a great sense of humor and loved to bake and cook. She will be missed by her family and friends. Contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
