Rhoda G. Kershman Kinberg

Rhoda G. Kershman Kinberg, 98, passed away January 2, 2017 in San Diego, Calif., where she had resided since 2001. She was preceded in death by her husband Morris J. Kinberg and her sons Joseph E. Kinberg and Rabbi Myron H. Kinberg and her brothers Irvin and Bernard. She is survived by her daughters, Sheila (George) Fisher and Clare (Patti) Kinberg-Cowan and son Robert (Sharon) Kinberg; daughters-in-law Ellen Coddington Kinberg and Alice Haya Kinberg; 14 grandchildren, David, Michael, Rachael, Daniel, Rebecca, Yohanna, Oni, Moriah, Lauren, Joshua, Michaela, Aliya, Myisha and Zevi; 21 great-grandchildren and two great great grandchildren; her brother Herschel and many nieces, nephews, and others whose lives she touched with her generous spirit.

Rhoda was born in St. Louis, grew up in Fort Worth, Texas, and raised her family in University City and Creve Coeur before moving out to Thousand Oaks, Calif., in 1975. She was an avid bowler, bridge and mahjong player, and Jewish community volunteer. She began working in florist shops in the 1960s and retired in the 1990s an accomplished floral designer. She would no doubt consider her children and grandchildren to be her greatest accomplishments.
