Beloved husband of Lucille and the late Diane Cristal; loving father of Scott (Marcela) Cristal, Lisa Cristal (Bruce Cybul) and Marcie (Dennis) Gamble; stepfather of Michael (Patty) and Raymond (Carol) Gilpin; grandfather of Ross and Kensey Cybul, Rebecca Gamble, Caroline Cristal (Zack Poltras), Danielle, Meredith and Adriana Cristal; stepgrandfather of Brennan Wenning, Erin (Russell) Catron, Jennifer Neu, James (Marcie) Bounchi and Ray Gilpin; beloved brother of Eddie (Celeste) Cristal.

Paul was a charismatic person who led a full and adventurous life. He started his company, Colonial Mercantile, when he was only 22 years old and it is still going strong. He served as President of the National Association of Installment Companies (NAIC). Paul worked to improve the community and the lives of the residents. Paul’s epitaph perfectly sums up his life: “Things were never dull when Paul was around.”
