Arthur L. Rosenbaum, M.D., died June 22, 2010 at the age of 69 in Los Angeles, Calif. Dr. Rosenbaum was a renowned pediatric ophthalmologist, surgeon, author, teacher and mentor. He worked tirelessly to advance the field of pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus and was one of the original investigators in the area of botulinum toxin (Botox) injection in the treatment of strabismus and facial spastic disorder. He was the recipient of numerous outstanding awards including the Lifetime Achievement Award from the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the Marshall M. Parks Medal from the Children’s Eye Foundation. Dr. Rosenbaum was the beloved husband of Sandra Rosenbaum; dear father of Steven (Melissa Hernandez) Burick; dear son of the late Dr. Harry and the late Evelyn Rosenbaum; dear brother of the late Robert Rosenbaum and Jane (Dr. Harold) Sitrin; dear uncle of Emily (Robert) Mason and Betsy (Ian) Rubenstein; dear great-uncle of William Mason; our dear cousin and friend.
