Norma Peltason

Norma Peltason, died September 23, 2011 at age 82 from cancer. Born Norma Lee Litt, March 30, 1929 in St. Louis; daughter of the late Ann and the late Jim Litt; widower of Charles M. Peltason, Sr. to whom she was married since 1950; mother of the late Charles M. Peltason, Jr.; mother of Jim Litt (Barbara) Peltason of Naples, Florida and Ruth A. Peltason of New York; grandmother of Keith Peltason and Leslie Peltason, both of Chicago; sister of Paul Litt. Much loved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, and loyal friend, she was every bit a natural redhead. She was spirited, outspoken, and always a great, smiling beauty. Natural style settled comfortably on her shoulders all her days. She worked briefly in real estate; at Stix, Baer & Fuller as a buyer; and later as a volunteer at the St. Louis Zoo Gift Shop. For many years she was with Saks Fifth Avenue, where she was manager of the store’s Fifth Avenue Club. More recently, she sold real estate for Janet McAfee. She was a great friend and confidante, loyal and loving. Her zest for life, and abiding pride in her family will long be remembered. Funeral service Friday, September 30, 1 p.m. at New Mt. Sinai Cemetery Mausoleum, 8430 Gravois Road. Visitation 12:30 p.m. Friday at New Mt. Sinai.
