Norma Jean Bierman Koslow passed away peacefully on November 27, 2023. Born on July 26, 1931, at The Jewish Hospital in St. Louis to Ada and Sam Bierman, Norma Jean was a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother and aunt.
Norma is preceded in death by her husband Marvin, her sons Steven and Bryan, and her grandson Sam. She is survived by her son Jeffrey Koslow, daughter-in-law Valerie, daughter-in-law Sherri Koslow (Green), brother Arnold Bierman, sister-in-law Susan, her grandson Stevie Koslow, her nieces Sara Rothfeder, Lisa Franklin, Karen Moreno, Susan Davis-Zetcher, Pam Theodore and Robin Koslow-Zipsir, along with many great nieces and nephews who adored her.
A vivacious and humorous woman, Norma adored her children and dedicated countless afternoons scouring her favorite discount stores for deals, particularly for her sons. No sale was left unexplored, especially when it came to finding that extra pair of pants! Her commitment to her family extended to her role as the CEO of her home, where she mastered the art of homemaking. Renowned for her culinary skills, she even taught microwave cooking classes, and her home was known for its impeccable cleanliness, complete with the meticulous ironing of Marvin’s undershirts.
Marvin, Bryan and Norma honed their knack for scoring great deals at local garage sales. Their passion for finding hidden treasures evolved into a successful business where they shared their fantastic finds with others. Together, they navigated the world of bargain hunting, leaving lasting memories and lots of great stories!
Norma’s quick sense of humor and resilience will be dearly missed. Despite facing numerous challenges in life, she maintained a positive outlook, always finding the best in every circumstance and person.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Norma’s memory can be made to the United Hebrew Congregation in St. Louis.
