
Muriel E. Beckerman, June 29, 1940 – November 3, 2025
Muriel Beckerman passed away on November 3 at the age of 85. She was the beloved wife of the late Marvin Beckerman, devoted mother of Lori Raskin (Stephen) and Staci Falk, proud grandmother of Brandon and Ashley Raskin, loving sister-in-law of Rita Beckerman and Carole Mann (Zachary), and dear aunt, cousin and friend.
Born in Sioux City, Iowa to Paul and Ruth Lelchook, Muriel was the apple of their eye. She was a graduate of the University of Nebraska with a degree in elementary education. During her time there, she also joined and later served as the president of the Theta chapter of Sigma Delta Tau.
Muriel was dedicated in her role as an elementary school teacher and beloved by her students spanning her 30+ year career. She earned her Master’s in Education from Washington University and retired in 1995.

She treasured her nickname, Mimi, given to her by her grandchildren, and it was the name she happily preferred. Muriel was a favorite playtime companion with endless amounts of toys and yummy snacks.
Nothing compared to the love Muriel had for her family and extended family. Introduced to her future husband, Marvin, on a blind date, the two were happily married for 47 years. Together, they shared countless special moments. She will be remembered for encouraging everyone to “have fun” and her signature laugh.
Muriel will be lovingly remembered during a graveside service on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at 1:30 pm at Chesed Shel Emeth Cemetery, 650 White Road, Chesterfield, MO 63017.
