Morris (Moishe) Tamsky passed away peacefully on July 26, 2024, surrounded by his family at the age of 96.
Beloved husband of Eileen Tamsky for 68 years: dear father and father-in-law of Bob (Melanie), Steve (Desiree), and Rachel (Jeff); loving and proud grandfather of Andrea Gutiérrez-Glik (Katie), Eva Tamsky (Nico Sanchez), Jeremy Glik (Carly Leroy), Ben Tamsky and David Tamsky; delighted great grandfather to Leo Gutiérrez-Glik. Loving brother to Bertha Radvin, his late sister; dear uncle, great uncle and cousin. To meet him was to become his friend.
Morris was bounding with the love of life and most especially his love of people. Family meant everything to him, attributing all of his blessings to the love of his life, Eileen. Morris (Moises) was born and raised in Havana, Cuba and his homeland held an important place in his heart up until the day he passed. He was passionate about music. Warm, funny, humble, curious, thoughtful, everyone agrees how he filled the room with light when he walked in.
He found the love of learning later in life and never tired of being awed by what he discovered in his eclectic collection of books, ranging from philosophy, literature, poetry, history and Jewish studies.
Funeral service was held on Sunday, July 28th at Central Reform Congregation with interment at Chevra Kadisha Cemetery. Memorial contributions in honor of Morris can be made to Central Reform Congregation or to Planned Parenthood Great Rivers, https://www.plannedparenthood.org/. BERGER MEMORIAL SERVICE
