Mildred Rain Plax, died July 10, 2011. Beloved widow of Jakob Plax; beloved mother of Stephen (Karen) Plax of Leawood, Kan. and Kenneth (Julie) Plax of Tuscon, Aria; dear grandmother of Irene Plax and Jon Plax and his wife, Nora Richardson; daughter of the late Esther and the late Samuel Rain; loving sister and friend of the late Irene Rain and Elinore “Jackie” Rain (the late Marvin) Kasnetz. Her caring and giving nature and open arms made her loved by many. She was the first woman president of the University City Chamber of Commerce. She also actively participated in the People to People Program and was a member of United Hebrew Congregation. Funeral service Tuesday, July 12th, 1:00 p.m. at Berger Memorial Chapel, 4715 McPherson Avenue at Walton.
