Michele V. Spooner-Lucas

Michele V. Spooner-Lucas (Viviane Azran) passed away peacefully in her sleep on July 31, 2017, with her family at her bedside. Survived by her children Rachel (Tim) Arnold, Jack (Margaret) Spooner and David Spooner, grandchildren Avery Arnold, Kendal Spooner, Peyton Spooner and Jack Spooner, Jr., sister Esther McManus, beloved Aunt of Daniel Press, Jacqueline Gideon, David Azran and cherished matriarch to the entire Azran tribe. Michele was a generous, hard-working, caring, loving and strong woman. Born in French Morocco, at age 11 Michele traveled to Israel to become a citizen of the new Jewish state. At age 19, Michele moved to the United States to join her sister who had married a G.I. stationed in Morocco during WWII and was living in St. Louis. Michele was fluent in French, Hebrew and Arabic. Michele spent her life as a mother, French teacher, beautician and world traveler. Michele will be deeply missed by all who knew her and by all who loved her. A special THANK YOU to all the wonderful caregivers who helped Michele during the final stage of her life.
Graveside service at Beth Hamedrosh Hagodol, 9125 Ladue Road at 5:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 2, 2017.
