Beloved husband of Dorothy Marcus Schwartz; dear father and father-in-law of Nancy Schwartz and her husband Michael Levinger, Ken Schwartz, Allen Schwartz and his wife Marla Hirsch Schwartz; dear grandfather (Papa) of Aaron and Rebecca Levinger, Micah Schwartz and Evan and Arielle Schwartz; dear brother-in-law of the late Frances Marcus, late Max (late Trudy) Marcus, late Esther (late Jesse) Hyman and Ruth (late Robert) Cohn; dear son of the late Frank Schwartz and the late Kate Schwartz; dear uncle, great-uncle, cousin, member of the Schukar Cousin’s Club and friend to many. 

Special thanks to Carlis Taylor, Pauline Dunn, Shay Eddins, Charlene Fleming and Thelma Griffin for providing loving care and support. Melvin, raised in Staunton, IL, was a long-time resident of St. Louis, employee of Famous-Barr and devoted volunteer at MERCY St. Louis “St. John’s” Hospital.

Funeral service Sunday, May 8^th, 1:30 PM at Congregation Shaare Emeth, 11645 Ladue Road, St. Louis, MO 63141. Visitation begins at 12:45 PM. Interment follows at Chesed Shel Emeth Cemetery, 650 White Road.
