Marvin Sandweiss passed away peacefully on October 10, 2021 at the age of 85. Beloved husband of 65 years to his middle school sweetheart Phyllis Sandweiss; son of the late Nat and Bernice Sandweiss. Loving father to Bruce (Caryn) Sandweiss, Tracy (Paul) Mellring, Steve (Joyce) Sandweiss; “Pawpy” to Lauren (Jeremy) Brenner, Jeremy (Stephanie) Levinson, Sydney Stein, Jacob Sandweiss, Nick, Megan and Matthew Mellring, Sarabeth, Nato and Zosia Sandweiss; great grandfather to Max and Ari Brenner, Callie Rose Levinson and Noah Stein. He was the founder and owner of Midwest Recovery Services and Midwest Autobody until his retirement at age 70. Marvin was a great athlete and played on traveling volleyball and softball teams until he was 62 years old, often with teammates much younger than him. He was also a card enthusiast his whole life, spending many days playing gin rummy at the “J”, where he was a fixture, and countless nights of poker with his many friends.
Marvin will be remembered by many during the last 29 years for his never-ending love, devotion and caring for grandson Nick, his constant companion. Being Nick’s guardian angel gave special meaning and purpose to Marvin’s life.
