Marta Vaenberg, age 92, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 17th in St. Louis, Missouri. She was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina on November 19, 1929 to Pablo and Miriam Shofer. Marta was preceded in her death by her husband Gregorio Vaenberg.

Marta immigrated to the United States (Chicago, IL) in 1963 and moved to St. Louis in 1990 to be closer to her children and grandchildren. Marta worked as a dressmaker when she first arrived in this country until she earned enough money to open her own boutique shop in Long Grove, Illinois.  Marta will be long remembered for her passion for cooking and her devotion to family.

She is survived by her two sons Mario (Rebel) Vaenberg and Alejandro Vaenberg, her three grandchildren, Gaby Vaenberg, Alexandra (Michael) Sommer and Allie Sobczak, and her great grandson, Eli Sommer.
