Mark Hirsh Fish, M.D., died May 20, 2013 at age 100. Born on February 18, 1913; beloved husband for 71 years of Henrietta Fish. The beloved son of the late Meyer and the late Fryda Fish. The loving father and father in law of Shirley (Robert, MD) Becker, Michael (Lois) Fish and the late Dennis Fish. The loving grandfather of Susan (John) Kemppainen, Deborah (Brian) Smith, Steven (Shana) Fish and Benjamin Fish. Special great grandfather of Alex and Ryan Kemppainen and Stella Fish. Dr. Fish was born in Tarnov Austria, which became Poland after World War I. He went to medical school in Vienna with teachers such as Sigmund and Anna Freud. He fled Europe in 1938, but most of his family was killed during the Holocaust. He practiced medicine in E. Moline, IL. He did everything from delivering babies, doing appendectomies to setting broken arms He took care of entire families. He was beloved by his patients and he loved the practice of medicine. Dr. Fish was an avid snow skier, water skier and tennis player. He flew airplanes, designed and built homes, apartments and strip malls. He was a true Renaissance Man and he will be missed by all.
