Soulmate, wife of 56 years, and “Slim” of Harold Major Goldberg. Exceptional mother of her long-awaited daughter and lifelong companion, Nancy (late Donald) Schwartz; and of her two sons whom she revered, Larry (Dr. Pat Boice) Goldberg of St. Joseph, MO, and Allen (Toni) Goldberg of Edmond, OK. Proud Nonie of her “fourth child” Abigail (Jordan) Durlester; and of Alex (Laura) Goldberg and Sydney (Ben Higginbotham) Goldberg of Kansas City, MO, and Aubrey and Ethan Goldberg of Edmond, OK. Adoring GG of Sasha and Aurora Durlester. Matriarch of the Sincoff family, and special aunt, cousin, and bonus mom/ grandma of so very many others.

Margy June grew up in Maplewood, and was raised by her beloved mother, Alice, and grandmother, Mama Sophie. She had a fantastic, fun childhood spent surrounded by Alice’s ten brothers and sisters and all her cousins, who acted as surrogate siblings. Margy had a more active social life at 96 than most people have in their 20s. She was well-loved within multiple circles: from her lifelong best friends – a majority of whom she knew from birth or close to it, and with whom she built traditions and families together – to her “newer” friends from the competitive bridge and knitting communities. She would often say she’d had a great life. We know we’ll “never forget it”.

A masked graveside service will be held at United Hebrew Cemetery on Thursday, September 9 at 11:00 a.m., followed by an outdoor celebration of life shiva that afternoon at the Schwartz/ Durlester house from 3 – 7 pm.
