Leslie Rich, D.D.S.

Leslie Rich, D.D.S., died September 25, at his home. Born in St. Louis September 17, 1932,  Leslie is survived by his wife, Patricia Elkins Rich, and daughters, Barbara Rich (Philip Macaluso) of Brooklyn, N.Y. and Kathryn Rich Davis (John) of St. Paul, MN as well as his sister, Jacqueline Rich Haffenberg, of Winnetka, Ill.  A loving uncle and friend to many.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel Morris Rich and Florence Weenick Rich, and his sister, Dorothy Rich Fisher. Leslie was a proud graduate of Clayton High School and the University of Colorado at Boulder (B.A.) where he was a three year letterman in baseball and selected for the All Big 8 Baseball Team.  The University of Colorado also named him a Living Legend in 2002, 50 years after he earned his first varsity letter. He earned his D.D.S. degree from St. Louis University. From 1958 to 1960 he served as a Captain in the U.S. Air Force stationed in Korea and Japan. Leslie had a dental practice for 40 years in Kirkwood.  He also served as the dentist for the St. Louis Football Cardinals from 1961-87, the St. Louis Hockey Blues from 1971-95 and the St. Louis Rams from 1994-95. Leslie always loved cars, and was an avid vintage car collector, especially Jaguars. He and Pat took many touring trips with Jaguar groups and friends.  They traveled extensively in the U.S. and throughout the world. Funeral service Tuesday, September 30th, 10:00 AM at BERGER MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 9430 Olive Blvd. Visitation Tuesday, 9:00 AM until service time. Interment B’nai Amoona Cemetery.
