Leona Pollack Ross

Leona Pollack Ross passed away peacefully on January 14, 2018.

She was born in St. Louis on July 19, 1923, and was the beloved wife of Eric H. Ross for 68 years. Eric predeceased her in 2013. Leona and Eric shared a beautiful love story that included their three daughters, Elyce Ross, Lauren (John) Schwab, and Jane (James) Orthwein, and six grandchildren, Lon Bernstein, Leslie (Philip) Johnson, Blair Schwab, James (Ana) Orthwein III, Ross Orthwein, and Clark Orthwein.  Leona is also survived by her half sister Carol (Joseph) Sparks, her niece Barry Masters, and great grandchildren, Hunter Orthwein, Henry Johnson, and Charles Johnson.

Leona graduated from Washington University in St. Louis with a liberal arts degree.  She was a former president of the St. Louis chapter of Brandeis University, and volunteered with numerous charitable organizations.  Leona also loved to play tennis, cards, and to spend time with her many friends.  

There will be a private graveside service for family members.  Donations in Leona’s memory can be made to the Humane Society of Greater St. Louis.
