Leadora Extein

Leadora Extein, died February 20, 2012 in Boca Raton, Florida. Widow of Alvin M. Extein; mother of Irl Extein, a psychiatrist in Boca Raton and daughter-in-law, Barbara; Mark Extein, an attorney in Washington, D.C., and daughter-in-law, Lynn; grandmother of Melissa, Jason, Andrew, Seth, Brian, and Jonathan Extein. She was a lifelong resident of St. Louis until moving to Boca Raton in 2005. She was born in New York in 1923, the daughter of Marie and Isadore Sparberg. She graduated first in her class from Soldan High School and graduated from Washington University Phi Beta Kappa. Extein started her teaching career at Wash. U. upon graduation and continued on to serve as a beloved math teacher for many years at University City High School. She raised her family in University City, later moved to Chesterfield with Alvin, and remained closely connected to St. Louis throughout her life. Services: Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, February 23rd, at 1:30 p.m. at Berger Memorial Chapel, 4715 McPherson Ave. at Walton. Interment Beth Hamedrosh Hagodol Cemetery, 9125 Ladue Rd.
