Born September 19, 1953 in Indianapolis, Ind.; son of the late Mildred and the late Benjamin Ashkenaz; husband of Judith Fireman Ashkenaz; father of Philip, Mitchell, and Jared, all of Memphis, Tenn.; brother of Helene (Mark) Herwitz of St. Louis.
