Judy Krug

Judy Krug, 82, of Overland Park passed away on Sunday, June 9, 2019, surrounded by her loving family.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 11, at 1:30 p.m. at The Louis Memorial Chapel, 6830 Troost Ave, Kansas City, MO, followed by burial at Mount Carmel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Congregation Beth Shalom or the charity of one’s choice.

Born in Schenectady, N.Y., as the youngest of two daughters to Bess and Bill Abramson, the family came to the Kansas City area in 1944. She was a 1954 graduate of Paseo High School, and went on to attend UMKC for two years on a music scholarship. Following her marriage of fifteen years to Sandy Krug, Judy held positions as a secretary, music teacher, and accompanist before working in estate sales with her sister Ruth Diamond and friend Marcia Eveloff.

Judy was a member of Beth Shalom and its Sisterhood, a life member of B’nai Brith Women, a life member of Hadassah, and the Heritage Center. She enjoyed learning of all kinds, whether it was studying with her rabbis or consuming the news.

Her family was her most passionate focus, followed closely by her love of music, holiday celebrations, live theater, annual family trips to the Ozarks, Mah Jongg, card games, word puzzles, and the Chiefs. She cherished time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren, and could not have been prouder of all their accomplishments.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents, sister and brother-in-law, Ruth Lois and Myron Diamond, and special friend Seymour Katz.

She is survived by her children, Cindy Daniels (Robby), of Overland Park and Mark Krug (Elise), of St. Louis, and her grandchildren Jeffrey and Marla Daniels, and Paige and Rachel Krug, sister-in-law Noreen Greenberg, as well as nieces, nephews, many cousins, and dear friends.

She was a beautiful soul who touched many lives, and may her memory always be a blessing.
