John Moyn

John Moyn, died June 17, 2014 in Lansdale, PA.  John was a very witty, charismatic, animal loving aviation enthusiast.  He will be enormously missed. He has been in the field of aviation 50 years and was semi-retired. He was the Owner & CEO of a consulting company “Private Jet Consulting” “PJC” located in Wilmington Delaware.  He also was engaged with a start up FBO, an Audio System company and a National Charter Company. John served in the United States Air Force from 1957 through 1965, from 1966 through 1968 as a Grade-I Technician with McDonnell Douglas and as an A&P for Ozark Airlines before attending and graduating from Parks College. Staying at Parks College he became a teacher, A&P I IA Inspector and Shop Supervisor for Parks College from 1969 through 1975. From 1975 to 1984 John was Chief of Aircraft Maintenance for Mallinckrodt, Inc maintaining a HANSA JET and SABRELINER. From 1984 to 1998 John was employed by Mid Coast Aviation and Atlantic Aviation Twice each. Every time beckoned back & forth by ever increasing roles, from Sales, Director of Maintenance, Regional Manager, to reaching the Senior position at both companies. He had lived in St. Louis, Houston and Wilmington Delaware during his career and managed many facilities from Long Beach to Wilmington and hundreds of personnel. In 1998 he was captured by Innotech-Execaire Aviation Group in Montreal as Vice President of U.S. Sales & Marketing and then launched a new start-up company, Montreal Jet Center in 2004. Until his death he was semi-retired. John consulted with various aviation groups as President of Private Jet Consultants, NewCastle DE. John was acknowledged as a senior executive in the Corporate Aviation Industry and also as an entrepreneurial leader with proven management, sales, marketing, financial and people skills. But most importantly, he was respected as one to promote the advancement of aviation technicians, their trade & skills, and for the amelioration of the A&P community. John held A&P and Private Pilot From 1972 to 1987 he was an FAA Accident Prevention Counselor. From 1972 to 1987 he was a Designated Mechanic Examiner and from 1972 to 1998 was an Authorized Inspector.  He had been a member of PAMA since 8/6/1975.     He is survived by his wife Patricia “PJ” (nee: Draper), father of Samuel (Alisa) Moyn and Sara Moyn (Paul Weiner), grandfather of Lily, Madeleine and Sasha, step father of Christina (Chris) Reich and Jim (Lauren) Picarro.  Brother of Darlene Berger.
