John Benjamin Schlesinger, died December 6, 2013 in Lombard, Ill. at age 61. John was the wonderful and loved elder brother of Nancy Schlesinger of Alexandria, Va. and Tim (Wendy) Schlesinger of Ladue, Mo. Generous and loving uncle to Joseph Reed and Annika Schlesinger of Ladue, Mo. Dearest eldest child of the late Stanley Paul and Gloria June Schlesinger. Beloved nephew of Doris and Ted Weiner of St. Louis, Mo., Maynard J. and the late Lois Rosenbloom of Prairie Village, Kan., and the late Delores Hakan Benjamin and the late Melvin Hakan of Kansas City, Kan. Cherished cousin to Brian, David, Jane, Kate, Michael, Jimmy, Jim, Trish and Lisa. John was a lover of movies of all genres; music, books and the Cardinals. Even though he lived in Chicago, his heart was in St. Louis. His family members remember him as a loving man, a great cousin who was everyone’s refuge, with a precise and hilarious wit reflecting his incredible intelligence. Memorial service at Rindskopf-Roth Funeral Chapel, 5216 Delmar Blvd., St. Louis on Friday, December 13, at 12 noon. Visitation will precede services at 11:30 a.m. The family will receive visitors at the home of Tim and Wendy Schlesinger after services until 9pm on Friday, December 13. Memorial donations may be made in John’s name to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Rindskopf-Roth
