JoAnn Sandler

JOANN SANDLER, April 29, 2022.

Surrounded by family, JoAnn Sandler passed away April 29, 2022 as her huge and caring heart failed. She was married to Ronald Sandler for more than 66 years.  Loving mother of Brad Sandler and Linda (Pearl) Sandler, Mark Pearl. Loving grandmother of Melissa Sandler, Jason Sandler, Max Sandler, Colin Sandler, Rachel Pearl and Jeffrey Pearl. Dear sister of Myrna Crane, the late Barbara Bayer. Dear aunt, cousin and friend of too many to name.

Born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri and Denver, Colorado. She met Ronnie at a St. Louis Browns baseball game. Subsequently attended the University of Missouri at Columbia. When Ronnie was drafted into the Air Force, she left Mizzou, got married and together they lived in Cheyenne, Wyoming, Indianapolis, Indiana, and Washington D.C. before returning to St. Louis; where they spent their remaining years together with family and friends.  JoAnn and Ronnie traveled throughout the United States, and all over the world. They saw the world’s grandest entertainers, like Frank Sinatra, Elton John, Johnny Carson and numerous Broadway shows.

JoAnn was thoughtful, warm, generous, caring and kind. With her business partner, Mary Horwitz (deceased), of 48 years, they helped many people with their estate, moving, downsizing sales through J&M Estates Sales.

She was an avid bridge player and also enjoyed playing Canasta and Mahjong with her many friends. Her top priority was her family.  There was no better wife, mom, and grandmother. Named JoJo by her oldest grandchild, nothing gave JoJo more pleasure than playing with, helping and traveling with her children and six grandchildren.

A memorial service was held Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at Temple Israel. Memorial contributions preferred to Evelyn’s House, Harvey Kornblum Jewish Food Pantry or Lynne’s Light.
