Joan Schultz

Joan Schultz, resident of Olivette, died Wednesday the 25th of January in her home. Born in 1931, Joan earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education and a Master’s Degree in Aesthetic Education from Webster University. She was an accomplished photographer, poet, and pianist. Joan taught music and piano classes, as well as many seminars across the country, always at the intersection of music, poetry, and art. In 2015, the Missouri Senate recognized Joan and her beloved husband sculptor Sandy Schultz, with a Resolution in their Honor. Joan is survived by her husband and best friend Saunders “Sandy” Schultz, her son Neil and his wife Karen, her daughter Lisa and her wife Veronica Slade, and her nephew Keith Kaplan and his wife Judy. She is predeceased by her parents Paul and Cecile Smith and her sister-in-law Sylvia (Louis) Kaplan. Visitation will be at 10:30 AM on Sunday, January 29th at BERGER MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 9430 Olive Boulevard. Funeral service follows at 11 AM.
