Joan Elkin

Joan Elkin, June 14, 2022

Beloved wife of the award winning novelist, the late Stanley Elkin; dear mother and mother-in-law of Philip Elkin (Marilyn), Bernard Elkin, and Molly Elkin (Ivan Wasserman); dearest grandmother of Jessica, Jacqueline, and Samantha Elkin, and Sydney, Teddy, and Joey Wasserman; dear sister of Marshall Jacobson (Beverly) and the late Bernard Jacobson (Jean), and sister-in-law of the late Diane Brandwein (Richard).

Joan Elkin died just two months shy of her 90th Birthday. She lived a long and full life. Joan was strong and fit, running and lifting weights until last year. She loved the theater, the symphony, opera – all performance art where people came together to make something. And she loved to laugh. Great big belly laughs. Joan Elkin was a brilliant artist, and her work hangs in homes and Institutions nationwide. She will be sorely missed.
