Beloved husband of Brenda Kanter Hirsch for 60 years; dear father and father-in-law of Rob Hirsch and Jennifer (Jay) Grosman; Grandfather of Haley Sara Grosman and Benjamin Drew Grosman; Dear brother of Eva (late Marvin) Sofferman; brother-in-law of Ileane (late Irvin) Fagin; dear uncle, cousin and friend.

Jerry graduated from Missouri University’s School of Journalism.  For most of his working career, he owned his advertising agency, where he received many awards for is creative work. He was generous in donating his expertise and time and delighted in helping people new to the industry. His business integrity and caring nature turned many clients into lifelong friends.

As a young man, he won awards at the state level in track and field.  During his adult years, he continued to be active in sports by playing golf, tennis, and ice hockey. Jerry was extremely devoted to his family and friends. He loved talking with strangers wherever he went and used his creativity to delight others with his irreverent humor. Aside from his love of family and friends, he was passionate about horses. He considered the horses he owned as members of his family. Poetry was another one of his passions, and he was an accomplished writer.

Throughout Jerry’s life, his sweetness kept growing and growing which was a real blessing and will be deeply missed.
