Beloved husband of Sheila Ellen Shucart. Dear father of Heather (Brant) Miederhoff and Matthew (Jennee) Shucart. Loving grandfather of Madison and Brayden Miederhoff, Lorelei, Eli and Andrew Shucart. Beloved brother of Mickey (Howard) Reiss and Bruce (Carolyn) Shucart. Dear uncle, great-uncle, cousin and friend.
He was a devoted husband to Sheila for 47 years and they worked together for 43 years. They loved to travel, attend Cardinal games, the Muny, the Fox, and be with friends.
He was the Dad who was involved with his children, Heather and Matthew, in every activity and organization they were involved in. He coached their softball teams and was chair of the BBYO Adult board. Jay was with them in every aspect of their life, gave them unconditional love and was their Hero. Jay was thrilled when Heather married Brant and Matthew married Jennee. He welcomed them to the family with open arms.
Jay was “Papa” to his five grandchildren, Madison, Brayden, Lorelei, Eli and Andrew. He loved attending their dance recitals, cheering events, baseball and hockey games. Papa Jay was their biggest cheerleader and was very proud of their accomplishments.
Jay was a devoted brother to Mickey and Howard, and Bruce and Carolyn. He enjoyed his trips to Chicago to visit Mickey and Howard and Saturday mornings working side by side with his brother Bruce selling honey at the Farmer’s Market.
Jay was President of Advertising Premium Sales for forty years. He loved to talk with people and was an inspiration and mentor to many in the Promotional Products Industry. Jay was described by many as a real Mensch! He will be missed, but his legacy will be with us always.
