Jane Sherman Kahn

Jane Sherman Kahn, 96, passed away on June 16, 2018. 

She is survived by her husband of 75 years, Lawrence Kahn M.D. of St. Louis; her children Susan (the late Neil) Kahn Bromberg of St. Louis, Robert (Fiona Duff) Kahn of NYC, and Thomas Kahn of St. Louis; her grandchildren, Ingrid Bromberg Kennedy, Kenneth Bromberg and Kiki Kahn and her great granddaughter, Lila Kennedy.

Jane was born in St. Louis on 2/22/22. She grew up in Atlanta GA and graduated from Sophie Newcomb College. She received her Masters in Social Work from Tulane University in 1945. She worked with children for most of her 50-year career in social work. She was an engaged, supportive, and loving wife and mother, enjoyed a full and meaningful career, and spent a life in pursuit of knowledge.

A memorial celebration will be conducted at The Museum Building at the Missouri Botanical Garden (enter at 2201 Tower Grove Ave at Cleveland Ave), on Monday, June 25th at 5:30. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Lifelong Learning Institute at Washington University, 9 N Jackson, St. Louis, MO 63105, where she was an early and active member, or the Missouri Botanical Garden, 4344 Shaw Blvd, St. Louis, MO 63110, where she volunteered for over 30 years.
