Jackie Ketcher

Jackie Ketcher, died March 9, 2014 at age 92. A wonderful mother, caring person, and great friend to many she was a lifelong St. Louis resident. She came from the big and vibrant Goffstein family. Her dad was Isadore “Ike” Goffstein. Her mom was Deborah Bearman Goffstein.  Jackie had two brothers, the late Sol Goffstein and Millard Goffstein, and many nieces and nephews. Jackie’s grandparents, Simon and Leah Bearman, owned a dry goods store in St. Louis, and one of Jackie’s greatest memories as a little girl was going with her grandmother on shopping trips to Chicago to buy products for the store. Jackie was a giving person.  She was always one of the first people to visit someone in the hospital. And if anyone ever needed something, Jackie was always there to help right away. For Jackie, family was everything. She and her late husband, Frank “Babe” Ketcher, were parents to three children, Ron Brown (Susan) of Washington, Mo., Rick Brown (Sally) of Chicago and Linda Powers (Howard) of Seattle. She lived for her kids, and then for her grandchildren, Jason Brown, Jill Brown, Ted Brown, Deborah Brown, and Elia Powers, and great-grandchildren, Mia Brown, Jack Brown, Andrew Gumpenberger, and Alyssa Gumpenberger. Jackie had a wide circle of friends, many of them dating back to grade school and Soldan High School.
