Jack Sorkin

Jack Sorkin, passed away on Wednesday, March 22, 2017, at the age of 92.

Beloved husband of the late Florine Hope Sorkin (nee Roth), and dear brother of the late Sylvia (Jess) Resnick and the late Lou (Mary, Jane Ranshaw) Sorkin.  He is survived by son Richard (Kathy) Sorkin, daughter Cheryl (David) Shelton, and son Steve (Jeane Vogel) Sorkin, all of St. Louis; grandchildren Andrew and Jody Shelton, Jamie (Nick) Cacciabando, and Aaron and Hannah Sorkin; and great-grandchildren Luke, Tessa, and Cate Cacciabando, all of St. Louis; sister-in-law Annette (the late Stanley) Beck and brother-in-law Harold (Dvora) Roth.  Our dear uncle, cousin and friend.

After graduating from Soldan High School, Jack served as an Army Air Force navigator in World War II and was a POW. He graduated from Washington University and had a distinguished architectural career, retiring as a principal of the firm of Sorkin-Ginsberg.  Jack was active in United Hebrew Congregation, Jewish War Veterans, American Institute of Architects, Clayton Parks Commission, and other civic and professional organizations.  Jack was a truly kind and loving man who will be missed by all who knew him.
