Beloved husband of Peggy Nodiff Rothman for 58 incredible years; dear father and father in law of Joel David Rothman and Daryl Cary (Linda) Rothman; adoring grandfather of David, Rachel and Daniel Rothman; Brother of Helen (Kenneth) Goldstein; uncle of Jeffrey Goldstein, Sharon Bass, Steven Nodiff, Daniel Nodiff; great uncle of Kaitlyn, Zachary and Max Goldstein, Steven Nodiff Jr, Carly Bass, Cassie Nodiff and Marissa Tucker; great-great uncle of Aria Self; dear son of the late Harold and late Clarice Rothman.

Ivan was a revered teacher in the Parkway School District, known for challenging every student to reach their potential, think critically, and find their own voice. To this day, countless former students reach out to attest to how Ivan transformed their or their children’s life. If anything rivaled his love of teaching, it was his love of animals, especially his many beloved, behemoth canines throughout the years. The current crew, Big Benny, and sweet Flame, miss him dearly already. And if anything eclipsed both of these things, it was his love of his family, for whom he worked tirelessly and sacrificed his entire life.

Ivan made an indelible impression on all who knew him—there was no one quite like him, and his legacy shall live on through the many who loved or were impacted by him.

Funeral service Tuesday June 14, 2022, 10:00 AM at Berger Memorial Chapel, 9430 Olive Blvd. 63132. The service will be livestreamed at www.bergermemorialchapel.com Interment at Chesed Shel Emeth Cemetery-White Rd. following the service. Masks are required. Memorial contributions preferred to Harvey Kornblum Jewish Food Pantry or St. Louis Humane Society.
