
Irving Myron Goldstein (Oofie) passed away peacefully on April 10th at the age of 100 years old.
Born in St. Louis, where he resided for 55 Years before moving to Boynton Beach, Fl.
Irving was the beloved husband of the late Helene Bonnie Goldstein (Kopman), devoted father of Michael (Jamie), late Bruce Goldstein and late Scott Goldstein. Loving Grandfather of Lauren Ramlet (Steve) Emily McCune (Brandon) and Kimberly Stockton (David) Loving Great Grandfather to Harper Ramlet, Hudson Ramlet and Grey McCune. Son of the late Joe and Lillian Goldstein and Brother of the late L Jack Goldstein and brother-in-law of Marian Goldstein. Brother-in-law to the late Bernard Barken and the late Jocelyn Barken (Kopman) Cherished Uncle, Cousin and dear friend to so many.
Irving grew up in University City as well as Clayton, where he met the love of his life, Helene. They married in 1948, the beginning of a devoted partnership and Best Friend Relationship that lasted until Helene’s Death in 2011. Irving attended Washington University prior to WW II and returned for a brief time afterwards, prior to joining his Father, Brother and Uncle in the family business, Goldstien-Schwartz.
Irving, along with Helene were devoted parents, grandparents, great grandparents, as well as friends to so many. Irving had a long and distinguished career at Goldstein-Schwartz and after he and Brother Jack retired, kept in touch with Michael, Rand and Mark on a daily basis to keep his fingers on the pulse of the business.
In retirement, He and Helene enjoyed playing Golf and Bridge and of course, meeting a new group of friends, from all over the country, in Florida. Irving was a selfless individual who was always wanting for everyone else and never for himself. He will truly be missed.
Graveside service Tuesday, April 15, 2 PM at United Hebrew Cemetery, 7855 Canton Ave. 63130. Memorial contributions preferred to the Scott and Bruce Goldstein Fund – JCC.
