Graham Green, died December 22, 2008, at age 51. Husband of Lee for 20 years; brother of Gary Green and step-son of Frada Green. Born in Massachusetts, Graham grew up in Danville, Ill., graduating with a Ph. D. in Biochemistry from Rutgers University. He worked in biotech firms in Cambridge, Research Triangle Park, St. Louis and South San Francisco over a 20 year career, and was thankful that he was working at Genentech when he became ill because his co-workers were incredibly supportive and caring. He was ever helpful and generous with his time, and enjoyed doing home repairs for family and friends Pondering how such a sweet and good man could be taken from us so soon, brother-in-law Elliot said; “God must have needed Graham to do some fixing up for Him around heaven!” Berger Memorial

Arthur Abraham Jaffe, died December 19, 2008. Husband of Sylvia Letvak Jaffe for 61 years; father of Lainey (Michael) Berkus, Lois (Rick) Mariam; grandfather of Byron Cohen, Faryl (Andrew) Greller, Craig (Penny) Mariam, Brad Mariam, Kimberly Mariam and fiance’ Pavel Shainsky; great-grandfather of Jordyn and Collin Mariam. Arthur was born January 24, 1925 to the late Lena and Samuel Jaffe. He is the brother of the late Esther (Nathan) Hyman; the late Berdie (Morris) Potashnick, the late William (Jenny) Jaffe, the late Hariett Jaffe and Nathan (Bena) Jaffe and brother-in-law of the late Tessie (Morris) Karfeld. Arthur worked for the Terminal Railroad for 45 years. He was a member of the Memorial Post 346 Jewish War Veterans and served in World War II European, African and Middle Eastern campaigns with the 238 Combat Engineers. Arthur and Sylvia founded the Jewish Genealogy Society affiliated with United Hebrew Congregation. Sylvia Tettlebaum, died December 9, 2008. Born June 10, 1913, in St. Louis, Missouri, she was the daughter of Esther Kantner ( Louis) Schimmel and Harry B. Kantner; widow of Nat Tettlebaum; mother of Harvey (Ann) Tettlebaum and the late Marlene (Joseph) Oppenheim; grandmother of Scott Oppenheim, Lynda (David) Walters, Marianne (Dorian Stuber) Tettlebaum and Benjamin Tettlebaum; great-grandmother of Ellvis Walters; sister of the late Phillip Kantner and the late Morry Schimmel; sister-in-law of Fern Schimmel. She operated a well known cookie bakery and catering business out of her home, later working for many years as purchasing agent for Angelica Uniform Co. She volunteered for many charitable organizations including Nadah Women’s Organization, NR Society, and St. Louis Children’s Hospital.
